Acne is a common disorder of the glands in the skin. Although it is particularly common amongst males and typically begins at puberty, acne can erupt at any age. It is characterized by the recurrence of blackheads, white-heads and cysts, and it affects primarily the face, back and shoulders. Orthodox treatment usually involves long-term treatment with antibiotics and this can lead to chronic intestinal yeast overgrowth. Diet and Lifestyle To help prevent acne avoid refined carbohydrates (white bread, sugar), dairy foods and fried foods, keep animal fats to a minimum. Increase fruits, vegetables and your intake of water to at least eight glasses per day to help clear toxins from the body. |
